Summer events in Calgary: festivals, family-fun, and big machines

There’s always much to see and do in Calgary, but it’s taken to an extreme edge during the summer months. Whenever you visit during the season, you can be sure there’ll be plenty of fun things for you and the family to do. If you’re visiting during late August and into September, you’ll be able to sample Calgary’s different cultures, have some family-friendly fun, and attend Monster Jam, among many other things.

Look to the skies between August 16 and 25, and you’ll be able to see an impressive fireworks display that has been synchronized to music! It’s all part of GlobalFest, will feature displays from Ukraine, Spain, and more - head down to Elliston Park before the show and you’ll be able to sample the food and culture of the participating teams, too. It promises to be an explosive and exciting show!

Fun the whole family

On September 8, you’ll be able to attend the 'Circle’ carnival, which will take place in Calgary’s Currie neighbourhood. Taking place from 11 am - 11 pm, you’ll be able to find delicious food trucks, live entertainment, and workshops where you can learn circus tricks. Sounds fun, right?!

Big flying machines
