Move your body in Calgary at Olympic Park!

Fall is on its way, which means that winter is just around the corner. If you want to get outside and start moving, now is the time. Get your heart rate up, have fun, and take part in activities that will keep you happy even when winter begins to hit!

OLYMPIC PARK

The site of the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, Olympic Park is now a sprawling complex with fun outdoor activities, games and more!

Olympic Park is open all year round, and while it was originally designed for winter sports some would argue that it’s best experienced when the weather is warm. There’s really so much to do! Get your heart pounding on a zipline through the park, go mountain biking, hop on a summer bobsleigh for some seasonally inappropriate jingle-bells, take on the site’s challenge course and prove how tough you are, or just enjoy a fun round of mini-golf! Or, experience the ultimate in one-of-a-kind pulse-pounding excitement and go for a ride on the Skyline Luge, a 1.8 km long track on a wheeled ride that recreates the winter sport without the ice! It’s a blast.

And that’s not all! The children’s activity area includes a Climbing Wall, a “spiderweb,” for clinging too, and even a short “Eurobungy” so your kids (ages 4 – 14) can have a truly memorable experience!

And that’s not all – Olympic Park is now booking mountain biking camps for September so your kid can learn to take to the trails! The park is also home to the Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, and the Olympic Performance Training Centre! There’s plenty to see or do for all ages.

Winsport, the operators of the park, have been incredibly responsible during this time, opening up parts of the park only when they are certain they can do so safely. They do ask that if you are feeling unwell to stay home – otherwise, look forward to a fun day – or days – putting your body through its paces and Olympic Park!

Want to get away for a bit while you can? Book a room at the Days Inn Calgary North Balzac for a safe, clean and comfortable room that will give you ease of mind while enjoying a short local vacation.
