  • September 18, 2023

Fall is a great time to visit Calgary as there are less crowds which makes it easier to get into.

attractions and eateries with wait times being much shorter.  It has been said that Calgary "combines the energy of a major metropolitan city with the warmth and welcoming spirit of a small town".  And no matter where you are in Calgary, one can see the beautiful foothills and magnificent Rocky Mountains in the distance!  Temperatures will be cool, cooler and colder as the fall months progress closer to winter, but the weather is dry with only 11 inches of rain falling on average per month.

If you are a history buff and enjoy taking a walk in the crisp weather of October try the FORT CALGARY STORIES WALKING TOUR.  It is a 1 hour walking tour which explores Fort Calgary's 40 acres.   Here you will learn where the BOW AND ELBOW RIVERS MEET, the land was held by Indigenous peoples since long before 1875.  The North West Mounted Police established a site of colonial occupation called Fort Calgary which paved the way for a new settler community. The tour goes regularly on every day of the week except Mondays and Tuesday, 8am-4pm. and ends Oct. 29, 2023.  You can purchase tickets on the day you would like to go or go to the website or phone 778-320-3409.

If you like beer, why not have a fund day trying out new flavors and going on a specialized craft beer adventure with CANADIAN CRAFT TOURS around Calgary!  Exciting behind the scenes tour, sample Calgary's best beers and learn something along the way.  Logistics, transportation, and beer included.  There are several tour options to choose from, each 3.5 hours which includes samples of 12 styles of craft beer and access to more than 25 through tasting flights and samples of 3 local craft breweries!

A FUN-FILLED event for the entire family and a must to do at Hallowe'en is the PUMPKINS AFTER DARK event which runs from Sept. 22-Oct. 31 2023.  PUMPKINS AFTER DARK is Canada's award winning outdoor Hallowe'en event with over 10,000 hand-carved pumpkins.

This one-of-a-kind-walk-thru experience is the must see event of the year.  There is a magical pathway of pumpkin sculptures, music, live pumpkin carving demonstrations, fall treats and sweets----FUN FOR EVERYONE!
